STREET SYNAGOGUE!
|
|
|
"You shall not hate
your brother in
your heart…take no revenge and cherish
no grudge against your fellow human
being, but love your neighbor as yourself."
Leviticus, 19:17-18
On Friday, June 20th at 7:30
PM, Bolton Street Synagogue will
have Dr. Karen Hanscom, Executive Director of Advocates
for Survivors of Torture and Trauma (ASTT), speak on the issue of
government-sanctioned torture. The event will take place during Friday
evening services. All are welcome to attend.
The mission of ASTT is to alleviate
the suffering of those who have experienced the trauma of torture, to
educate the local, national, and world community about the needs of
torture survivors, and to advocate on their behalf. ASTT provides case
management, counseling and referral services to individuals from around
the world who have experienced government sanctioned torture in their
countries and have fled to the United States for safety.
